Our children's dental programme
is designed to teach each child how to care for
their teeth and gums so that they can grow up with a
completely disease free mouth, no pain and no
fillings!
The Child Dental Health Survey
2003 found that 43% of all 5 year old children had
had at least one decayed tooth and by the age of 15
years over 42% of children had had at least one
filling in an adult tooth.
Regular Visits to the Practice
We invite you and your children
to come to the practice at least three times a year
so that we can spend time with you both. Each visit
your child will have a dental health check but also
spend time with our nurse who will teach your child
how to care for their gums and teeth.
We have developed a structured
fun learning programme for you and your child. Each
visit will cover a different topic and activity
appropriate to your child’s age both dentally and
developmentally from birth to 16 years old.
This programme won 1st Place in
the National Prize for Prevention in Dental Practice
in 1992 organised by Oral B and the British Dental
Association.
The Practice also won the
National Best Practice Award 1996 for Dentistry
Monthly and Corsodyl.
